About Tiny Turbines

TinyTurbinesQuad-round

We are the Tiny Turbines

It is our mission to be a team that encourages and values underrepresented pilots in the sport of drone racing – in particular, female and LGBTQ+ students.
Most drone teams are funded by schools & school sponsors, but because the Tiny Turbines is not school affiliated, we rely on donations to fund our equipment that students can’t afford. Donate now through our GoFundMe!

About Us

Tiny Turbines started in April 2020, with a mission to develop an inclusive team that encourages and values pilots not currently well-represented in this sport – in particular, female and LGBTQ+ students.
Most drone teams are funded by schools & school sponsors. We decided to form a team for students who don’t have access to a school team but still want to develop the skills used for building, programming, and flying drones, skills used in the practical world of aerial robotics, and the first step for careers in drone engineering and aerial photography.
We are a part of Hydra FPV. We are currently racing virtually via the VelociDrone FPV Racing Simulator app, and look forward to real world racing as soon as we can.
We are currently the only team with a female lead. Aurora Pass (she/her/hers) is our team captain. Sea Blake (they/them/theirs) is our team’s Informational & Technical Organizer.
